To Ascend the Mountain

We do not ascend the mountain to leave the world behind.
We ascend the mountain to expand our view of what the world truly is.
This channeled message came to me while I was sitting in silence, enjoying my own awareness folding into itself. Most spiritual seekers know the quote: "There are many paths up the mountain, but all lead to the top," however, why do we climb that mountain in the first place? Why not be content with the stability of level land and comfortable beauty around us? Is not everything part of this sacred Universe?
Many spiritual traditions (do I dare say all?) are upward pathways toward liberation/ enlightenment/ ascension/ heaven. However we need to question this on a deep soul level of what these traditions are telling us about who we naturally are as creatures of this Earth.
There should be no shame in being who we are in our primal essence as creatures of this Earth. In aligning with this truth, that we are apart of nature, we can become stewards to the land in loving partnerships. We see ourselves as part of the web, not the puppeteer of cosmic consciousness. Shame of our bodies and animal-like passions, taught by many religions, separates us from our true selves and creates the deception that we can take from nature and not give anything else in return. Greed is entitlement.
And yet, we also walk the road up the mountain because what we seek can only be found beyond the material plane of existence. Within ourselves is a space of infinity that this peak of the mountain represents. We are touching God, our Souls, the Sky Within Boundless as we embrace that mountaintop. We just need to remember that we are not trying to escape our true existence as sacred beings of this earth. Is not the flower and the tree also part of the Whole? In looking out from the mountaintop to recognize the Oneness of us all, we are perceiving Heaven here within our own existence and we remember as above, so below.
Blessings,
Bonnie Jane
